Sweet Sweat
Sweet Sweat is about treasured and lost connections; to both my first home in the deep Florida south and to loved ones through the years. Intimacy and nostalgia are central throughout the show, referencing the melancholy in mourning memories and places never to exist again.

Webcam portraits with anonymous text
Artist statement:
Since I first started having an online presence around age thirteen, I’ve been receiving anonymous harassment. Women, especially young women, receive an astonishingly disproportionate amount of harassment online ranging from comments on appearance to threats of rape and violence. In this series, I attempt to explore this issue by contrasting some of the malicious comments I’ve received with self-portraits. The portraits, or “selfies”, are recreations of the original images that the harassing comments were addressing. With this simple gesture, I intend to demonstrate the cruelness of the comments while exposing and examining this phenomenon.
After posting this project on my tumblr blog, the response was overwhelming. It received over 100,000 notes and was then written about by BuzzFeed, Good Morning America , Huffington Post , The Daily Mail, The Baltimore Sun, Glamour, Mic, MTV act and more.

Jon
When I met Jon, we instantly clicked and he become a fast friend. I started this project as a photographic series, but decided, especially as someone who identifies as queer myself, Jon's unique experience deserved more than just photographs. I made this video portrait of him when I was 19 and he was 24. This is a glimpse into his personal worldview and what its like living with someone who doesn't accept you.
