I have been teaching art since 2002. I was the arts program leader in a core group that created the St. Mary's Annapolis after school enrichment program, which was recognized with a national excellence award in 2007.
I currently teach elementary age students both privately and through the local community college program in particular their gifted and talented program. Art fundamentals, drawing and abstract art are among the courses I've taught. The kids gain new skills and new appreciation for art.
Images of people, and pets in various mediums.

I have studied portrait and figure drawing with well known portrait artists Cedric and Joanette Egeli at Egeli Studios since 2009 and have extended that study independently and with other courses, including life size head sculpture and figure sculpture to enrich my understanding of anatomy.
I often take photos of scenes with plans to do a painting from them. Sometimes I get a photo that I think is already a piece of art on it's own. I love the sponteneity of capturing a moment with the camera...how the light is falling or a splash of water. I do love to paint from these images too, but have found it to be fun to hunt for and capture chances of beauty. These images are unretouched digital photos...check out burning sky, it was November at sunset, and the sky really did look like this...no fire, just the November light.
