About Yuriko
I have been exhibiting my arts in juried and non-juried shows within the greater Baltimore area since 2019. My education includes an elective art program during high school, in which my work with oil received honors. Faces and figures
Faces and figures is a collection in which faces and figures play central roles in the compositions, in combination with other elements. I rely on representational value system and shapes of human forms, with occasional abstraction, to ground each piece. Light, colors, and textures are liberally manipulated to convey the space, moods and stories that the subjects are experiencing.

Gestural figure studies
Gestural figure studies are selected gestural figure studies from/based on studio live model sessions with five to ten minutes poses. These monochromatic studies of values and forms focus on the flow of the gravity and body axis, placement of bones and joints that supports poses, and faces/hands that enliven the images. Interplay of negative and positive space creates environment surrounding the figures.
