Layers of paper create forms that mimic the tension I experience when I enter my assigned seat on a plane wondering if the other person will be a good companion during an uncomfortable flight.  Will they take up more than their fair share of space?  Will they talk too much?  Will they be an interesting conversationalist?  The anxiety of an introvert.

In January of 2024 I lost my Bichon, Romeo to lymphoma and I used this piece to help with the grieving process.  The background has many little ghost shapes covered with a light acrylic paint.

This collage painting is dominated by rich layers of green, red, and gray, interspersed with shimmering accents of gold that catch the light like fleeting moments of clarity on a white background.   The white background appears quiet at first glance, yet closer inspection reveals hidden gems.

A bold piece in reds, oranges and greens depicting sensual and organic forms.  The shapes are abstract yet suggestive, resembling petals unfurling, veins in leaves, or the contours of something hidden finally coming to light.  The background is made of strips of paper.  The organic forms and vibrant colors speak to the raw beauty of uncovering one’s inner world.

This collage radiates a soulful energy, inviting the viewer into a journey of self-compassion. Layers of deep purples blend with hues of green and light blue, creating a serene interplay of colors that ebb and flow like emotions.  In the background there is much to be seen although it is soft and muted.   The background is a collage piece in and of itself.

 This painting is bright,  alive with color, a symphony of orbs, each one a reflection of the flowers blooming in my cherished pollinator garden.  Each orb reflects not just the flowers, but the essence of the garden itself—a reminder of the delicate balance that sustains our world.

The piece, titled "Jellyfish," is an abstract collage of of handmade papers with a richly textured background.    Deconstructed parts of the jellyfish move across the piece.   There is a tension of the deconstructed pieces of the jellyfish pushing against the ochre components.

This painting is a reflection of my mood after the election of 2024.  To me, art is a way of processing feelings and in this instance it was a passing moment of despair.  The canvas is dominated by shadowy shades of paynes gray, and oranges, along with gold leaf.  As we enter into any period of change whether personal, geopolitical, or that of the natural world, we feel the depth of fear but in reality, do not know what is to come.

Out of One Many is a powerful and inspiring collage art piece that celebrates the spirit of immigration and unity. At its heart stands a woman, a figure of strength and grace, wearing a vibrant red top that symbolizes passion and resilience.

The words "Common Destiny" are collaged in the painting, suggesting a shared purpose that binds all people in our country together. Above her, an eagle soars with wings outstretched, its presence commanding and symbolic of freedom, protection, and vision.
