I am a mixed media artist whose passion for painting evolved from a love of nature combined with digital photography, particularly post processing. My current work uses mixed media included handpainted papers, purchased art paper, textiles and heavily worked backgrounds. My love for color and complexity comes from my observations in my garden, from my experience working with the therapeutic process in my position as a retired sex/couples therapist. I love doing collage because of it's introspective and meditative quality. The things I want to come across in my work is that we can move from trauma and vulnerability to an understanding that true self awareness requires joy and sorrow to be integrated.
