Baker Artist Portfolios

I am a self-taught, mixed media artist and photographer, gardener, and retired couples/sex therapist whose passion for painting first evolved from a love of digital photography, especially post-processing. It is now sustained by its' inherent introspective and meditative quality. My paintings and my garden reveal my love for color as well as a layered complexity that evokes the therapeutic process and the depth of experiences and individual humanity. From trauma and vulnerability to an understanding that true self awareness requires joy and sorrow to be integrated. Many of my pieces have a sharp break or crack, embracing the imperfection in all things. My work is often influenced by what I am listening to or reading at the time. These influences include the poetry of Leonard Cohen, Rumi, Mary Oliver and Hafiz.
