This felting was created with wool from the sheep we used to have. In fact, I think of this as a portrait of one of the ewe's, Pepper. She was always very alert and at the same time a little wary. She also bossed the other sheep around. (2018)
Orchard Grass

Orchard grass in the winter is so gorgeous, especially when it snows. I like how the wheat/rust colors look against the snow. (2019)

This is an image of one of the covered docks across Lake Elkhorn done from a photo I took late in the summer. Note the clusters of algae on the water.
Skywoman Falling

This piece was inspired by the story Skywoman Falling in Robin Wall Kimmerer's book Braiding Sweetgrass. It is a Haudenosaunee origin story.

Exploring objects and textures in nature and capturing the drama of light outdoors have inspired my artwork for as long as I can remember; and until a couple of years ago, I worked predominantly in oils and pastels. I am also a knitter and raised sheep for more than a decade. As a result, I accumulated a collection of wool roving and yarn. Frida Kahlo's Blue House

While visiting Frida Kahlo's blue house in Mexico City, I found a chip of cement that had fallen off the exterior blue wall onto the sidewalk. I carefully brought the chip home and had it in my studio for months thinking about how I could incorporate it into a felted piece. When I found blue roving that was similar to the blue of Kahlo's house, I was able to pull my ideas together into this piece. (2019)

This pen and ink was done on the Isle of Shoals off the coast of Maine. The morning light reflecting off the water and casting shadows was captivating.
