Futurism MetalOriginal completely handmade with a form decide by the many affirmations for weight loss and dieting. I did not eat for 21 days and strongly felt that the finished products design was greatly influenced by ascetic efforts such as this. Every piece is different as they are assembled by hand. I offer made to order pieces that are quite different from each other due to my unique casting process. The affirmations pray for the cessation of overeating or unhealthy foods. Features a large, natural gemstone. -
Ancient MetalThese artifacts are seeds of ancient and present mythology. The past's mythos grants us our timeless meaning, humanity, culture and spiritual understanding. As jewelry my works are riddled with text. I've intended them to be art-documents, proliferated by torch bearers of grace and intellectual discourse. This jewelry series was originally handle as small silver sculptures, which are then appropriated into clothing items and talismans. These works are silver books, wearable art-documents, proliferated by torch bearers of grace and intellectual discourse. Addressing "beauty" in art, these pieces become so detailed because Skydin only ceases working when he is told by the Divine that the piece is complete, beauty is thus the indicator that the work in question shall influence humanity positively! Skydin's work addresses art in an advanced phase of abstraction while maintaining the figurative. We began as cave painters, narrative & figurative. Skydin's work explores & decodes the "causal," formless source of all experience. -
Interfaces"I seek to use all of each medium, each phase to reveal the immortal, unchanging soul's face in the current incarnation of the model. With every phase I discard as much of the mundane possible. I come from many Abstract Expressionist tenets. I hold true to "The medium is the message", coined by Marshall McLuhan, later art critic Clement Greenberg. -
Macro LandscapesSkydin Zeal is a published photographer. He has hundreds of refined photographs such as those in his book. He began this series in 1999. These are all macro photographs that rely almost entirely on the media of photography. Skydin has always been highly skilled in CGI, however this series' truth is in the discovery, experience and exploration of the object photographed. Skydin began in his youth, 20+ years ago. These spaces were crafted from found objects, plastic, styrofoam, packaging for things purchased or objects discarded. It should be mentioned that Skydin was born to a very humble family. As years went by he taught himself to finely craft in precious metals. "I wasn't born with a silver spoon, but I devoted my life to creating silver artworks, including a spoon!" Under close inspection his metalworks too look like massive spaces and began to replace the discarded objects in the artist's macro photography. Curiously, Skydin says that these views/objects forshadow places on a much larger scale and in a future age. This is why he chooses to "document" via photography rather than "fabricate" through CGI.
About Skydin
Skydin Zeal received a Master's and a minor with a concentration in painting, drawing and communications design, respectively. He began Exhibiting in Manhattan New York's Chelsea Fine arts district as far back as 2000. Known worldwide for his Handmade Jewelry, Skydin is also a painter and published photographer with a thousand-plus otherworldly photographs.
