Jonah Brock originally hails from central Illinois. In 2021 he received a B.A. in Visual Art and Art History from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. His work has been exhibited in various locations, such as the Museum of Art Fort Collins in Fort Collins, CO, SVA Residencies Online Galleries, and Night Owl Gallery in Baltimore, MD. Parallel Play

Brock’s Parallel Play references the childhood stage of playing alongside, but not with,
others, while Holcomb’s Vivisepultura—Latin for “live burial”—interrogates the ways one can
be both living and dead, connected and isolated. From dog piles to mass graves, slumber
parties to zombie hordes, their works navigate how bodies come together and fall
apart—physically, mentally, erotically, and platonically.

Fag Rags

These "fag rags" are embroidered bandanas illustrated with penises in various stages of erection. Playful, silly, and candid, these works are inspired by dick pics that the artist received unsolicited on Grindr. What started as a series of simple sketches grew into the sole reason for using the hookup app, resulting in an entire collection of fag rags, which have been displayed at Memento Mori Gallery in Denver, CO, the Scout Art Fair in Baltimore, MD, and at Night Owl Gallery in Baltimore, MD.
