About Juliette

My work explores destruction and renewal, blending atomic mushroom clouds, flowers, skies, the moon, and lichens. I layer explosive forms with delicate details to reflect on nature’s fragility and humanity’s impact, considering cycles of decay and growth on our perfect world.

Camera Morte
My digital camera is possessed. Foreshadows. Aftershadows. Melting, semi-apocalyptic neighborhoods. Aliens. Cats. No image has been altered. Photos appear as taken through Camera Morte.
Cartographesque
These maps document an expedition of unknown but knowable places. Their discovery happens as they are created. Traditional and unfamiliar techniques are employed to bring these uncharted areas out of the ethers and into our plane of existence.
Black Eyed Susans
The Black Eyed Susans project is a series of paintings and drawings devoted to the early, middle and final life stages of the flower. All parts of the cycle are certainly worth documenting, but the final month of a Black Eyed Susan, when the petals change from lemon and Naples yellow, to ochre, then darken to sienna and even deep violet is especially saturated and worthy.
