Philippe Ricard is an artist and printmaker from Santa Barbara, California. In 2024, he graduated with a BFA in Printmaking from the Maryland Institute College of Art, where he also worked as a print technician in the Risograph lab. In 2023, Ricard was a Studio Intern at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center in Hyattsville, Maryland. Notable exhibitions include 2024’s Mesh: A Juried National Exhibition of Screenprinted Works at Pyramid Atlantic, 2023’s Pupal State at Marisa Newman Projects in New York City, and his 2024 solo thesis exhibition at MICA, A Few Blocks From Here. Ricard has just wrapped up his 2025 solo exhibition, Attached Observer, at the Washington Printmakers Gallery in Washington, DC. Now living and working in Baltimore, Maryland, Ricard has made the city the focus of his work, taking inspiration from daily routine, exploratory walks, and the sketches and photos he makes along the way to stage dramatized scenes of urban life.
