Alma's profile
Alma Roberts is a second generation abstract expressionist painter who "paints her way through life" with vivid abstractions rich in passion, history, and the stories she has lived. She is a rising talent despite having recemtly celebrated her 75th birthday. Roberts has been featured in solo exhibits ( Featured Artist at Baltimore City Hall Galleries, and at the James E. Lewis Museum, at Morgan State University), and as part of the group exhibits: I KAN DO DAT ( Rush Gallery, Philadelphia, Pa), Kuumba I & II ( Neiman Marcus, Tysons Corner, Va), Wombmanity (BWI Airport, Baltimore, Md.), Black'ity Black (Novado Gallery, Jersey City, N.J.), Black Art: In the Presence of Light (Gallery B, Bethesda, Md), and We The People (Maryland Comptroller's Office, Annapolis, Md). Roberts has one of her works in the permanent collection at Morgan State University's James E. Lewis Museum, and a portfolio of her works was recently featured on LEDBaltimore's 52' LED outdoor billboard. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Reginald F. Lewis Museum, and is a Commissioner on the Baltimore Public Art Commission.
