pamela's profile

Early on in my life the eco-spirituality movement caught my attention and since then has inspired and guided my work as a painter.  As a result, the core of my work has been the inseparable deep connection to nature, human nature and spirituality. My fascination with and love of  poetry, books, old maps and many travel experiences have also informed and woven their way into my paintings. Each of these sent me in their own direction of exploration, all variations on that core theme.
Later I serendipitously fell into becoming a Massage/Cranio-Sacral therapist (or should I say it found me) after returning from a trip to Venezuela allowing me to be witness to many forms of  healing. This experience and traveling to places where I met shamans and folk healers became another connecting thread to what I had been doing in the studio.

I am always seeking wonder, curiosity and awe of the natural and spiritual world and try to convey that in my work.

My work has been exhibited in numerous exhibitions here on the East Coast as well as in Nepal, Venezuela, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. My paintings are also in numerous private and public collections including the International Headquarters of the Lockheed Martin Corporation, The Health Insurance Association of America, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Distinguished Maryland Artists Collection of the University of Maryland, the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts and the University of Maryland Hospital Cancer Center.
