Dr. Camellia A. Blackwell, Ph.D. is an international professional mixed media award winning, visual artist, art educator, and arts administrator with 49 years of professional visual arts and art education experiences in the USA and abroad in numerous countries around the world. She earned her Doctorate Degree in Art Education, Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Maryland in College Park, MD. Her Masters Degree in Fine Arts and Art Education was bestowed upon her by (MICA), Maryland Institute College of Art located in Baltimore City. Morgan State University bestowed the Bachelor of Science Degree in Fine Arts and Art Education to Camellia A Blackwell in Baltimore City decades ago.
Dr. Blackwell has accomplished the following:
1. Educated more than 48, 000 public students, interns and mentees over the course of her career at outstanding universities, colleges and public and private schools in Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia.
2. Organized the first Visual Arts Exchange between the US , Kazakhstan & Kyrghystan.
3. Won numberous Outstanding Art Educator Awards from the Maryland Art Education Association
4. Authored numbers professional magazine and newspaper articles on Art Education in the USA
5. Has displayed and sold her own personal art works at international, national and community art galleries throught the USA.
6. Founded and directed ICAD, International Center for Artistic Development, Inc., a 28 yr-old, non-profit arts education organization.
