Tyler Yvette Wilson is a multidisciplinary artist who primarily works with text, photography, and video. She blends children’s motifs, autobiographical, current, and historical narratives to discuss the troubling foundations that underlie most of Western society and to expose the malleable nature of history. After graduating with a B.A. in Studio Art, she attended Oglethorpe University for post-baccalaureate studies. Soon after, Tyler became a semifinalist and was chosen as Judges’ Favorite in the Global Design Graduate Show 2020 and has since attracted the attention of galleries in London, D.C. and Atlanta. Featured by Artsy, her work resides in prominent private collections. In addition to completing a public art commission for the Town of Davidson, the London School of Economics and Political Science named her a quarterfinalist in their Legacy Sculpture Competition. She is slated to be the 2022 Visiting Artist in Residence at Brandywine Workshop and Archives. Tyler is the youngest member to serve on Davidson College’s Art Collection Advisory Committee.
