Nicole's profile

Nicole Fall is a sculptor, community artist, and teacher. She makes three- dimensional objects in clay, welded steel and cast bronze, often in combination with each other. The work uses surrealist imagery of plant and undersea forms that explore the human condition.   She considers her family history, as part of the Jewish diaspora and  historic persecution, in exploring broader human issues . 

As a community artist, Nicole  has administered (through Baltimore Clayworks) after school and out-of -school time arts programming as well as public art- making with students and visiting artists including George Rodriguez ( TX,, Philadlephia) and Leroy Johnson ( Philadelphia). She project managed the building of a Baltimore Clayworks satellite site at an urban mall as well as several mosaic tile murals across Baltimore including “And Still I Riase” , Leroy Johnson's exterior mosaic mural at St. Francis Academy, Baltimore. She served as interim Executive Director of Baltimore Clayworks in 2017-18.

Nicole was a founding teacher of G.W. Carver Center for Arts and Technology ( Towson,Md) , an Associate Professor at Baltimore City Community College, and started her career teaching senior citizens in community centers.

Further information: Nicole  was born and raised in Washington DC and has lived in France and Campuchea (Cambodia). She has exhibited at the College of Fine Art in Hanoi, Vietnam (2000) and at Makerere University in Kampala , Uganda(2011)

BFA Ceramics; MICA, MFA Sculpture, Towson University, Maryland State Arts Council, Individual Artist's Awards;1992, 2017. Gutierrez Memorial Fund and MSAC; Public Art Across Maryland grants have funded several public art projects.
