"Ultimate Reality" is a performance between myself and musician Dan Deacon. The piece consists of electronic music, two live drummers and video projection. "Ultimate Reality" is edited entirely from Arnold Schwarzenegger films. A DVD of the work was released by Carpark Records and in 2008 we took it on a national tour. My favorite way to have "Ultimate Reality" screened is with the drummers on the floor, set up in the audience, and the video projected large behind them.
The show is called "1000 Fathoms" and it features content you won't find on most public radio stations. Hosted by myself and comedian Ben O'Brien, the show has skits, amazing true stories and stand-up from innovative comics. We're working on season one right now, and it will consist of six one-hour episodes.
Written and recorded by Greg Hatem and Lindsay Parsons and released by Forks of Ivy in April 2011. Video by Greg Hatem.
In addition to working with many of the city's premier artists, MoRece has also worked with nationally known acts. One of those is Natalie Stewart, or "The Floacist" as she is more commonly known. She served as the spoken word part of Grammy-nominated neosoul duo Floetry, who rose to prominence with hits like "Say Yes" and "It's Getting Late". One of the project that resulted from her work with MoRec is "Prophecy", a soulful house track MoRece created and produced that The Floacist provided lyrics and vocals for.
