“Scene" is an in-progress series of paintings that investigate the porous edges between the individual and environment, an ever-shifting interplay between internal perception and external condition. These paintings attempt to dissolve distinctions between the boundaries of form and space and investigate how identity and perception emerge through a continuous exchange with the world around us. “Scene” is a gesture toward a more fluid understanding of being, one that embraces permeability, resonance, and the inseparability of individual and world.

“Expanding” is an in-progress series of paintings that investigates the profound act of motherhood: creating life from oneself, only to be entirely transformed by the process. The paintings investigate the continuous rupture of form between mother and child, between a self emerging and a self being redefined. By entwining these figures with the landscape, the series extends this inquiry to the natural world and how we are perpetually shaped and reshaped by the environment that sustains us.
