Erica Lorrie is a contemporary painter based in Baltimore, MD. She earned her BFA in Painting, cum laude, from Boston University and an MA in Medical and Biological Illustration from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Lorrie spent more than a decade as a medical illustrator, technologist, and award-winning AI strategist in international development. She has now chosen painting as her medium to convey a conceptual reaction to the rise of AI driven systems she once helped create. Her work challenges the categorical, data-driven logic of algorithmic vision, instead building visual fields rooted in instinct, energy, and immediacy. Lorrie’s paintings have been included in various exhibitions and are held in private collections.
