    Crooked Smiles

    Bryan Robinson’s “Crooked Smiles.” “Crooked Smiles” is an allusion to the song by rapper J. Cole. The figure’s hair, eyes, nose, and top row of teeth are visible. Some of the teeth are painted by Robinson, while some are made from pre-existing pipes that jut up from the sidewalk. The work is a mixed media experimentThe figure’s furrowed brow and expression are humorous and add a sense of levity to the block.  300 and 400 blocks of North Howard Street. The size of work is 39”x 60”.

    These are adaptive 2D inspired mixed media works by B. Robinson.  The upcycled luggage includes embroiderd 2D art of the original character Lor Nana. Accompanying the luggage are hand crafted pillows.

Bryan Robinson is an educator, director, curator and an award winning automatist media artist born, raised and superhero'd in Baltimore Maryland. He has a background in film, 2D animation and Business Marketing. He feels the blank canvas is just another portal to which his stories can be told.
