This is a film about heartbreak, survival, healing and rebirth. Beyond dismal statistics, Listen to Me centers the voices and spirit of Black women.

Stéphanie Etienne, CNM, MPH is a midwife, herbalist and filmmaker. She has been a birthworker since 2006 when she trained be a community-based doula as a member of the Community Birthing Project in New York City. Her belief in pregnancy and birth as revolutionary spaces led her to become a midwife.
