In 2000, I noticed the neighborhood in which I had spent my whole life changing. It was becoming a "destination" neighborhood and I was trying to capture what made it my neighborhood before it was gone. It was the first time I picked up a camera and walked around to explore. For over 20 years, I walked the streets of the neighborhood and captured as much as I could to show changes to people, places, and things. I don't know of many projects that document 23 years on negative film other than this one. I have combed through 50,000 negatives to describe this area.

In 2008, I travelled through several countries in Europe photographing without an itinerary.

I have always loved our Maryland Zoo and National Aquarium and this year in particular, I have visited them weekly with my daughter.

My camera travels with me everywhere and these are observations made elsewhere.

For so long, my work was external and using the world to figure out many things internally. Along with everyone else in the world, I concentrated on what was going on in the home.
