I started drawing because my mother is an artist and was always drawing. When I saw her pull out a pencil and paper, I automatically pulled out a pencil and paper. I was her biggest fan and wanted to be just like her. As I grew older, I realized I drew for me, for my fascination of the subject. I was, and still am fascinated and awe struck by the mystery of how creation occurs. When I start a drawing, I have no idea where it’s going or how it will turn out, so I am often amazed.

    For years I created in pastels. I love the way it blends and the soft affect is has when it hits the paper. I do many pictures in pastels any longer, but once in a while the subject calls for it. Here are a few that fit that description.
