Tracey Halvorsen (American, b.1971) is a Contemporary painter, whose work encompasses both representational and abstract elements in energetic and vibrant interpretations of the impressionists and great masters, intertwined with her own narratives of savagery and turbulence, sadness and longing, nature and beauty.

Stories

In the “Stories” collection, Halvorsen takes from artists like Rembrandt and Delacroix

and from her own early work to present a collection that is as disciplined as it is unrestrained.

Frame-shifting the old masters, she pierces interpretation - connecting with tradition while

relegating its authority to fluidity. Revisiting line art and stroke patterns that evoked curiosity in

her early work, she layers her evolution as an artist with a whisper of objection, offering the

viewer a freedom to create their own narratives as she does.
