The Crone Project emerged from the idea that women over the age of fifty should be seen and celebrated. Cheryl asked each model to arrive for her portrait session as her genuine, inner self . The portraits were done between 2016 and 2018 and the models ranged from age 50 - 78.
A project that began as genealogical research into a family’s history, this biography traces the life of a fascinating character before, during and after the great Klondike gold rush. Deeply researched, including quotes from Quigley and numerous photographs, this book is more than another tale of the Klondike Gold Rush. It is an intimate look at the inspiring life of a pioneer prospector, who witnessed the exploration and development of one of America’s most harsh, beautiful and captivating landscapes. The book was published by McFarland Publishing, January 2020.
The Magical Realism Tarot deck is a 78 card deck and has similar structure to the Tarot of Marseilles, or the Rider-Waite tarot deck.
Cheryl Fair is the deck creator. Her photography illustrates each card and she is the author of the instruction booklet. Many creative people were involved with making the Magical Realism Tarot project into a complete deck. Paula Millet designed the borders and backs of the cards and did the graphic layout. Clarke Bedford created the metal sculpture helmets, the pentacle, and the art car that was used as The Chariot. Rae Beth Designs created the headpieces for the Wheel of Fortune card and for all of the Queen cards. Hollie Chantiles painted the face for Death. All of the models are creative people in their own right and include actors, dancers, musicians, tattoo artists, painters, photographers, burlesque performers, comedians and craftspeople. Although Cheryl Fair made some of the costumes, most of the models provided their own costuming and put a considerable amount of thought and effort into their role.
