The deadline for visual artists to participate in the exhibition was Monday, October 21, 2024.
Applications are still open through Monday, November 18, 2024 at 5:00PM for artists to participate in the following ways:
- Present 5-10 minutes live at an Showcase (Performance, Literary, Music, Film) on Saturday, December 8, 2024
- Present a 5-10 minute reading at Literary Artist Fair on Sunday, December 14, 2024
- Table at a Literary Fair on Sunday, December 14, 2024 (Literary)
- Present 5-10 minutes live at a Showcase (Performance, Literary, Music, Film) at the Closing Reception on Sunday, January 19, 2024
All participating artists must have an active Baker Artist Portfolio at www.bakerartist.org. If you do not have a Baker Artist Portfolio, you can start one here! The Baker Artist Portfolios are open to artists working in any discipline, 21 years of age or older, who reside in Baltimore City or its five surrounding counties.

CLOSED APPLICATIONS:
- Bring one piece of wall-hung artwork (maximum 20" x 30") to hang at The Peale from November 7, 2024 - January 19, 2025 (Visual & Interdisciplinary Arts)
- Present a 5-minute video clip for inclusion on a screen loop (Literary, Music, Film, Interdisciplinary)
IMPORTANT DATES:
Deadline for Participation in Exhibition: October 21, 2024
Opening Reception: Friday, November 15, 2024, 4:00pm - 8:00pm
Closing Reception: Sunday, January 19, 2025, 2pm - 4pm
Documentation: By participating in this event, artists acknowledge and authorize The Peale Center for Baltimore History and Architecture, Inc. [The Peale], the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance (GBCA), The Baker Artist Portfolios, and the William G. Baker Jr. Memorial Fund [Baker Fund] to use and reproduce photographs of artworks and the exhibition, still or moving, alone or in conjunction with other photographs, still or moving, artwork and text matter, and circulate the same for the purposes of advertising the exhibition, and/ or providing documentation of said exhibition. Artwork, and/ or images of artwork, may not be used for any commercial purposes, and participation in the exhibition extends no additional rights pertaining to the usage of said artworks.
Wheelchair and Physical Building Access: The Peale has an elevator, which stops on all three floors as well as at the street-level entrance. The accessible entrance is on the left side of the building, about 100 ft. down Watchouse Alley. There are three floors in the Peale, and there is a handrail on all flights of stairs. Various and ample forms of seating are available in every room. The historic entrance has five steps and no functioning handrail.

Artwork Drop-off at the Peale will take place October 30, 2024 - November 3, 2024
Exhibition on display from November 7, 2024 - January 19, 2025
Opening Reception: Friday, November 15, 2024, 4:30pm - 7:30pm
Closing Reception: Sunday, January 19, 2025, 2pm - 4pm
Pickup will take place January 19 - 23, 2025 , starting at 4pm on January 19, immediately following the closing event.
Specific Drop-off times for your artwork are
- Wednesday, October 30: 2pm - 6pm
- Thursday, October 31: 2pm - 7pm
- Friday, November 1: 2pm - 7pm
- Saturday, November 2: 1pm - 4pm
- Sunday, November 3: 1pm - 4pm

Artwork Specifications
GBCA and Peale staff will install your artwork SALON STYLE in numerous galleries at the Peale. We request that when possible, you deliver your work with d-rings attached to either side. If special installation or hanging is required, please make note of that in the appropriate section below.
- We are requesting wall hung artworks no larger than 20" x 30".
- A limited area of space is available for sculptural artworks. Pedestals must be provided by the artist.
- A collection of portrait paintings in this exhibition will be displayed in the Latrobe Room (formerly the Picture Gallery) at The Peale.
- If you require special accommodations, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Artwork Sales: While we will not be managing sales of your work, if you wish for visitors to the Peale to be able to purchase your artwork, you are welcome to provide a price and contact information. This information can be provided in the form below.
Insurance: The Peale will ensure individual artworks on display for a maximum total of $3,000 per artwork.
