    30 x 40 inches

I created this monochrome portrait to further explore how the interplay of perception, color, and my reductive painting method allows expressive brushwork to emerge within the figures. This approach reflects my belief that art and fantasy can reveal deeper insights into our reality. The figures often communicate through their gaze or hands—searching, looking, peering, or drifting—echoing society’s fascination with escapism and idealized fantasy as they inhabit their own worlds.

Though the figure is posed referencing the L'Amour stance, his searching and quiet strength convey a narrative that extends beyond himself. He remains disconnected from the viewer and searches the ground instead.
