About David
I am a mixed Media Artist that gravitates toward texture and movement. I enjoy working with modeling paste and oil/ soft pastel along with charcoal, acrylic & oil paint to create a unique flow either in short burst or thick long flowing strokes.
The tools I use are mainly based on my mood at the time working on a piece, could be anything from a brush / trowel / paper towel, string or even fingers. I love to experiment by using different mediums.

The Art of Healing
The Art of Healing for me was a necessary journey that I needed to embark on. I was able to use color to express my feeling and sharp rigid strokes or long flowing ones to depict the mood I was in at that time. I look back now at these pieces of work and remember how personal they were to me and often wonder if other people see the same things I do.

The Sharp Edge Of The Shrinking Safe Space
( When you feel like your safe place is limited and conditional and you’re tired , scared and angry, the currents of life are too strong to process and you are forced to make a quick decision… do you reach out and grab the sharp edge of your safe place not sure if you’ll be accepted, understood, or even safe at all )

Abstracts
A Newfound Love. An almost graffiti like process with a suggestion of shapes, some recognizable- some not along with random markings and color. I especially love using the different types of Charcoal & Pastels. Oil/ Hard/ Soft Pastels that visceral feeling of mark making and blending colors.

Creature Feature
Creature Feature started as a study of Mythical & Cinema Monsters and evolved into a Comedic rendition of Creative Creatures. The vivid colors are exaggerated as well as their individual backgrounds. Keeping it light hearted. In order to achieve a Cartoonish like quality some of these pictures have been colored in with Alcohol Markers.
Everyone's a Lil Different
A cartoonish series whimsically placing people in real & fake world scenarios. Also very interesting creatures being placed in their real-world situations as well. Again using the Alcohol markers to get those Amazing sharp colors. Just plain Fun!
Charcoal Life
Studies I have done using different types of Charcoal. From Willow stick to compressed and dust as well, using various applicators. I love the way you can make a definitive mark and then brush and feather it to make it a soft shadow.
