Zachary's profile
Zachary Antonio Diaz (b. 1991), is a Baltimore-based visual artist, curator, educator, and arts administrator. His artwork, initially inspired by cloud formations, creates abstract atmospheres through vibrant color contrasts and multiple layers of marks. Primarily working in oils, he creates non-representational paintings and monotypes that capture energetic battles between motion and stillness, destruction and harmony.
Diaz is the Program Manager for the Maryland Institute College of Art’s Pre-College Residency Program, an Adjunct Professor at Towson University, and Curatorial Director of Hamilton Gallery in Baltimore, MD. He has attended Artist Residencies at the New York Academy of Art in SOHO, NY, the International Center for the Arts in Umbria, Italy, and the 701 Center for Contemporary Art in Columbia, SC. He has exhibited his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the United States and abroad, including Formations at Zo Gallery in Baltimore, MD, Letters at Stormwater Studios in Columbia, SC, and Homecoming at Patriot Hall in Sumter, SC.
