Yuriko's profile

My interest in art started when I was a child in Japan, and my educational opportunities include an elective art program during high school, in which my work with oil received honors. I have been exhibiting non-juried art in shows in the greater Baltimore area since 2019. My current study of art focuses on watercolor, drawing, and mixed media, with an emphasis on exploration of values, colors, and compositions under the guidance of Diana Marta, a resident artist at the Howard County Art Center.   Nature and people inspire me, and fragments of my daily life are integrated into my artwork. I explore colors and compositions, aspiring to exhibit feelings and thoughts through them. I also work in the field of scientific research, where, similarly to visual art, keen observation is crucial.
