Born and raised in Baltimore City.
Attended Baltimore School for the Arts 1985-86 for my fourth and final year of high school, then immediately earned my GED.
Maryland Institute, College of Art part-time continuing studies student 1986-89.
Towson [State] University 1987-95, started as part-time continuing studies student, had gaps in enrollment, became full-time degree student. Graduated 1995 with BA in Interdisciplinary Studies (Asian Studies, concentrating on India.)
University of Wisconsin, Madison for study abroad 1993-94.
Benares Hindu University in Varanasi, India 1993-94.
Former cake artist.
Former quilt artist.
Moved to Columbia, Howard County 2002.
Mother of four, Mimi of two, with grandchild number three on the way. 
Former meat in generational sandwich; now an orphaned adult.
Environmentally conscious gardener, enthusiastic sky watcher, and amateur environmental advocate.
Aspiring Master Naturalist.
Core member, YardsAlive!, a hyperlocal group working on behalf of our environment to increase sustainable and ecologically beneficial gardening practices. We do this through sharing about and from our own gardens, education, consultation, no cost plant and seed sharing events, and design and installation of native garden projects in our community, often working in partnership with other similarly focused groups.
