B. Sharise Moore is a multi-genre author, former educator, teaching artist, curriculum developer, workshop facilitator, and Poetry Editor for FIYAH Magazine of Black Speculative Fiction, a Hugo and World Fantasy Award winning publication. In 2021, MVMedia released her YA novel, Dr. Marvellus Djinn’s Odd Scholars and in 2022, she curated, edited, and self-published Conjuring Worlds: An Afrofuturist Textbook for Middle and High School Students. In October 2025, A City Dream, her debut picture book illustrated by Trudi-Ann Hemans, was published by HarperCollins. Her poetry and short stories have been published in a variety of anthologies and literary publications including Fantasy Magazine and Starline.
Moore’s forthcoming books include Golden: a Story of Yaa Asantewaa (HarperCollins 2026), Curious Creatures of African Folklore (Little Brown Books for Young Readers 2027), and The Marvelous Magic of Ellen Armstrong (Kokila/Penguin Random House 2027).
