Bonnie's profile

Bonnie J. Warren, a native of Maryland, was born an artist. While exploring many other talents, earning a BA in Accounting, CPA,  she found ways to honor her love of creating and enjoy other artists work, by visiting art museums regularly across the united states (including Baltimore, Boston, D.C. Chicago, Dallas, New Mexico, New Orleans, New York, & San Francisco) and in France (Paris & Toulouse) .

In 1996, during her lunch breaks, Bonnie participated in landscape classes at the Delaware Museum of Art. In 2001, Bonnie traveled to France to visit museums and participate in art classes. These plein-air classes made her realize that her life as an office beetle was over and she need to crawl out of the pond and into the light of the garden, following the path of dragonflies. 1996 she finally made her way out of that pond and metamorphosis into a full time artist.

Although she is skilled in many art forms, painting is her true love. Each art piece Bonnie creates is intended to facilitate meditation. Forms she loves and studies  are circles, triangles, landscapes, things with wings, gold fish and flowers. The Impressionist artists inspire her the most. Like them, she enjoys the outdoors, painting landscapes, atmospheres, dreamy reflective water scenes and lush vibrant gardens. Unlike most Impressionists, she has an obsession for detail which occurs through her own meditation process while creating a painting. These meditations cause the focal part of her paintings to reflect an almost life like image, while other parts of her painting are almost abstract.

In 2000, Bonnie began working with her dad, Elton E. Warren, on a new art adventure, functional interactive art.  This came from the desire to create art that is more intimate then a painting. Her idea of functional interactive art is that it can be touched and used in daily life to uplift the spirit of anyone interacting with the art. She begins new art projects from garden meditations like: “I want to be cradled by butterflies and meditate on a circle of butterflies” (see more detail regarding this art piece under Projects), or lets dine at a table that has dragonflies holding up a the table top, a huge water lily. The next step is creating a design for the art furniture and the installation of a painting created on ceramics. Bonnie's father (see his bio. below) was always thrilled to work on these challenging creations and would often find the solutions to these challenges upon waking in the morning.
Elton E. Warren was involved in woodworking since he was a youngster, learning a majority of his skill from his father who taught wood shop at the local high school in Batavia, New York. After Elton graduated from high school he spent 20 years in the military where he continued exploring his love of wood working while assisting in the military craft shop.  He enjoyed working in his studio until 2016 when he unexpectedly passed from a heart condition caused by exposure to agent orange during his military service in Vietnam.
