Iyosef Melku Tafari primary inspiration is from his Religion, Cultural Pride and spiritual awareness and development. He begin creating at the age of 7 years old and taught himself to draw out of old magazines, drawing faces. He began working with soft pastels and charcoal; Iyosef's love for animation led him in 2002 out of his home town of Baltimore Md. to Tampa fl. where he attended the International Academy of Design; He excelled in the computer animation program, Learning key skills and principles of design. He incorporated these skills into his paintings for twelve years developing his unique style to articulate the vivid visions he sees. In 2014 Iyosef moved forward to Baltimore to began putting his talent and skills forward as a professional Artist. He began creating art that reflected his vision of true spiritual and cultural ways of life art that captures the attention of the subconscious mind. Iyosef has participated in a number of local and international exhibitions such as "Tampa Nudenight" in February 2014; his first non-academic group exhibition, which preceded additional exhibitions throughout Baltimore. In addition to his love for participating in exhibitions and numerous Art/cultural festivals he has murals located thoughout in Baltimore. Iyosef is currently developing a series of paintings focusing on meditation while instructing sip&paints at Enoch Pratt library
