Leonard C.'s profile

Leonard C. Wilson is a Baltimore digital artist who creates visual works that focus on visual variations, rhythms and patterns. From the very beginning of his explorations in the arts he explains: "I have always believed there are visual rhythms which are powerful enough to lead us to archetypal experiences that can reveal the deeper mysteries of where we are from (Origin), what we are (Identity) and where we could go (Evolution)".

Since 2013 Leonard's digital artwork has focused on creating and refining the 500 piece fractal art series that he has named “Variants”. This 10 part series makes a conceptual statement on the visual perception of variation by way of computational and human repetition. He likes to describe this series as a demonstration of "cold precise calculation juxtaposed with human  aesthetic and intuition".

Leonard has attended Catonsville Community College (currently The Community College of Baltimore County) where he studied graphic design with a focus on photography. Not long after his studies he was inspired by a family member to pursue a career in the booming information technology field where he for the next decade was to take on responsibilities as system administrator for companies such as Sagem (now Safran of France), First Data and Cox Communications. Studying the arts has informed his personal artistic aesthetic and his experiences in the information technology field has endowed him with the technical power to produce contemporary works that speak to an audience of today and the future.
