Award winning stand up comedienne, solo performer and playwright. MESHELLE “The Indie-Mom of Comedy” cultivates and highlights the intersectionality of the arts via stand up comedy and its ability to foster activism and social impact. For over 2 decades, MESHELLE, has curated, produced and performed content for national, corporate and stage that speaks to the cultural and sociopolitical issues of our times. As an alumni fellow of the Open Society Foundation and Winner of the Baker Artist Award (2019), MESHELLE has authentically merged advocacy and the arts giving voice to campaigns, projects and initiatives impacting black women and girls. A passionate and fearless stand up, MESHELLE takes the art and business of Stand Up Comedy very seriously while bringing levity to some of our nation’s deeply rooted historical, racial and gender injustices.
MESHELLE has appeared on Nickelodeon, TruTV, BET, TVOne, STARz as well as NBC and FOX and has been featured on NPR and TEDx.

A stand up comedy love-letter, utilizing music and story telling amplifying the racial disparities, socio-cultural and historic biases as well as the self-imposed disconnects plaguing black women’s access to quality health care. Audiences leave this highly entertaining experience with a greater understanding, that physical and mental health are inextricably connected.
As Co-curator and featured comedienne of “Mothers Know Best Fathers Know Less”[MKBFKL], an innovative parent engagement comedy experience building community in schools between parents, educators, and stakeholders. MKBFKL was piloted, January 2024 in America’s largest school system, New York City Public Schools; invigorating parents and educators alike. The production debuted OFF-BROADWAY to a SOLD-OUT audience, July 11, 2025 at Joe’s Pub and was nominated , December 2025 for a Broadway World Award- NYC.
