Hanna F. Al-Kowsi (she/her) is an honors graduate of Johns Hopkins University with dual degrees in the Writing Seminars and Physics & Astronomy and a minor in Theatre Arts & Studies, and is currently pursuing her MFA in Fiction at Warren Wilson College, set to graduate July 2027. During her time at Hopkins she was mentored in performing arts by John Astin and James Glossman, developing a performance practice she continues to this day, and began work on a novel that ultimately secured her literary representation with Vertical Ink Agency, agent Reeves Hamilton. Her literary work has been a finalist for the Stephen W. Dixon Prize and was previously awarded first prize in the Grim & Gilded Summer 2024 Short Story Contest, and she has recently completed her second full-length written work, BETHPHAGE, a novel in stories for which Vertical Ink is currently pursuing print publication. She is also a longtime member of the Baltimore Rock Opera Society, and is the developer, writer, and co-director of an 80's corporate satire rock opera, AMERICAN VAMP, which ran May 29th - June 20th and sold out completely within 4 days of opening weekend. She'll be co-writing BROS' 2027 mainstage production, AQUARIUS DREAMING. She also writes for the MD Theatre Guide, and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society in recognition of her interdisciplinary pursuits.
