Francine's profile
Francine Marchese is a teacher and a painter. She is inspired by simplicity, color, light, the scent of oil paints, books in print, and traveling. Francine has identified as an artist from a young age. She still uses the painting easel that her parents bought her when she was ten-years-old. She currently resides in the Bolton Hill neighborhood of Baltimore, where the architecture and narrow streets provide her with a familiar, old-world, city feeling. She studied Renaissance Art in Florence, Italy and she studied painting at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. She adores living near MICA, for the artists it attracts, the galleries, and the vibrancy of a neighborhood in which art is ubiquitous.
