Julia's profile

Julia Beros is a movement & visual artist exploring the relationship of the experience of the sensory landscape to memory. She holds a special interest and continued research in the therapeutic properties of dance and the ways we use movement to communicate to ourselves & others, and its role in building community.

Julia trained in classical ballet and modern and received her BA from Sarah Lawrence College. She has studied dance and visual arts across the U.S. and in Berlin, Florence, and the Netherlands, and has had the opportunity to work for and collaborate with choreographers and companies across the country including Gwen Welliver, Mor Mendel, Big Dance Theater, Cathy Weis, Jody Oberfelder, Mira Cook, Ventana Ballet, Red NightFall Dance Theater, Christina Mitchell, Allysen Hooks Projects, Leah Cox, and others, having performed in venues ranging from the Kennedy Center and the Met Museum of NY to the rocky forests of the Barton Springs Greenbelt and grassy Baltimore parks. Julia is eternally grateful to the many artists she has encountered, collaborated with, and learned from along the way.

Julia has worked with all ages, teaching children and adults, and collaborating in multi-generational groups to explore movement communally and develop work. She is currently based in Baltimore, MD, USA - The Greatest City in America.
