Drohan's profile

I'm a photographer, videographer, and book designer who lives with a dog named Francesca in Baltimore City. My photography work focuses primarily on the unplanned, everyday encounters on the streets of Baltimore City which highlight the beauty, absurdity, tragedy, and comedy of living here. The photographs shared here are scans of exposures taken on a Nikon F or Hasselblad 500c using only available light. Outside of the occasional foray into novel film stocks, the majority of my work is shot on Kodak Gold 200, which I prefer for its unprofessional, snapshot-quality resolution and warmth not to mention its affordability relative to other media.

My aim is to achieve honest, relatable representations of my community that convey the complexity and depth of a chronically under-photographed city whose charm inspires and challenges me on a daily basis. I struggle to express the value I place on the interactions that my street photography has afforded me and extend my deepest gratitude to the people of Baltimore for letting me share their world in these snapshots. When not shooting street photography, I work for Princeton University Press as a book and marketing designer and assist local skateboarders as a filmer.
