Anysa Saleh is a Yemeni-American Muslim woman artist born and raised in California's Central Valley. Her work reflects her lived experience by exploring identity, culture, and representation through photography and short videos. She received her MFA in Media Arts from California College of the Arts and holds a BA in Psychology and Fine Arts from California State University, Bakersfield. Her work has appeared in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States and internationally.
Saleh’s artistic practice examines cultural codes, gender, religion, and assimilation through self-portraiture and documentary methods. By blending personal narrative with broader social themes, her work invites conversation about visibility within her Yemeni culture and the intersections of tradition and contemporary life.
