Baker Artist Portfolios

Shyheem J. Gordon was born in Baltimore, Maryland where he lives and works. He graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Arts in Teaching. He is known for his representational paintings that reference cinematic and sequential storytelling strategies. These paintings incorporate imaginative depictions of coworkers, friends, and family.
His work has been exhibited at the Grey Matters Space in Baltimore, MD, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Reginald Lewis Museum in Baltimore, MD, and most notably in the “Black Creativity Exhibition” at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, IL
