Valentine's profile
Valentine Aprile is a multidisciplinary artist of Indigenous Mexican and European ancestry. She received her BFA in Painting and Drawing and MA in Education at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia while also studying dance and aerial arts. Since then she has exhibited and performed nationally and internationally. After teaching, creating, and performing in and around Philadelphia from 1995 through 2005, Aprile took a break to raise her daughter and eventually ended up in New York taking up study at the Martha Graham School, Peridance, and The Maggie Flanigan Acting Conservatory. In 2015 she took a job at The Art Students League of New York, first as Model Services then also DEIA Manager. At the League she also continued her studies in painting and had the opportunity to teach workshops, lead special sketch events and online sketch classes. In New York she has also worked as a theater director, intimacy director, choreographer, and filmmaker. In 2023 Valentine Aprile moved to Baltimore where she maintains an active home studio.
