Fred Moss is a musician from Shreveport Louisiana. He has been a professional musician in the DMV region for 35 years, and has been teaching in Baltimore for most of that time. A Baltimore based Top 40 band hired him to relocate from Atlanta after meeting him on tour. After a 3 year stint in the Top 40 Band, Fred was hired on the Spirit of Baltimore as a house musician, and stayed with the company for 7 years. He was hired as Entertainment Director for The Philadelphia Belle cruise line for one year. The company went bankrupt shortly after he left. He became the guitarist for the top Band at Washington Talent Agency, playing lavish events around the East Coast for 11 years. He taught at a music school in Towson for 18 years where he met his mentor, Carl Grubbs. Carl brought Fred to the St.Paul’s Schools to teach guitar. He spent years assisting Carl in the classroom and would find his passion for the jazz language. They spent countless hours in the studio studying, composing and recording. Fred would eventually join Carl on stage and perform in various incarnations of Carl’s ensembles. Fred has performed with many groups, artists and has become a top call vocalist/guitarist/producer in the region. He has several residencies in Baltimore, playing jazz and world music as a soloist and with his groups. He has mentored students in the Baltimore inner city summer music programs for 10 years, and serves on the board of 'Our Joyful Noise Baltimore'. Fred presently is the Instrumental music and music production instructor at the St. Paul's Schools in Timonium Maryland. He has begun producing his first solo record with world renowned musicians accompanying him.
