Ariana's profile
Ariana Mygatt is an artist educator working professionally in public school education and photography. She runs the photography program and teaches all levels of photo at Parkville High School. Her visual arts practice is primarily film photography, investigating the genre of landscape and place through visually poignant moments and spaces created within our natural and unnatural surroundings. She also considers her role as educator to be an extension of her artistic practice. Ariana is also a wedding and portrait photographer, available for client work through her project Outtakes Studio.
Ariana holds a MA in Art + Education from New York University and a BA in Media Studies from Pomona College. She is an mentor within the Art21 Educators community, a group of teachers that collaborate throughout the year on ways to use contemporary art in the classroom.
She lives and teaches in Baltimore, Maryland and enjoys seasonal fruits, her parents, and the years 2000-2009.
