The past is one of the most essential building blocks to one’s character, yet memory is a highly complex concept. Over time, one’s memory of specific instances can be distorted, recreated and combined with others to create new experiences. The influence from the memories of others can also affect the way one recalls their own experiences. This exaggeration of memories is the primary focus of my work. To me, memory is an ever-evolving aspect of our minds—each moment existing in the shadow of the subsequent one.

The Fluidness of Gender Identity and Our Body Image. I have been exploring gender fluidness in myself and my community to try and open the dialogue of what gender means to me. I feel that we are all fluid in the fact the some times we may feel masculine" while at another moment "feminine"  and so how does this relate to gender. In the paintings that I am presenting in this section I am exploring gender through our human form and through a whimsical for of the Rabbit. As we look at the Rabbit paintings can we decipher if they are masculine or feminine.
In college, I began two series of painting which I have continually revisited, both based on photography. The first, my Polaroitraits, based on Polaroids. The second series was based on found, vintage photographs I have collected on my travels which I am now referring to as "Historical Fiction." I have always been a fan of the eponymous literature genre and like the books I love, these paintings have their roots in history. My process begins in the markets of Berlin, Moscow, Istanbul, New York- I scavenge through junk stores and flea markets finding old photographs which interest me.
