This collection of (re)arrangements is a nostalgic reflection on my childhood and a reckoning with my various musical and personal influences that have informed my artistic style. As a jazz pianist, a primary goal of mine is to commune with the past while nevertheless hurtling the artform towards the future. I seek the freedom of improvisation within the framework of extant melodies and compositions as a way of communicating with my forebearers, both personal and musical.

Night Suite is a captivating exploration of musical storytelling, seamlessly blending the spontaneity of jazz improvisation with the structured elegance of classical chamber music. Drawing on elements of classical-jazz fusion, this original Suite unfolds as a richly textured narrative, where each movement reflects a different facet of the night’s mystery, stillness, and uncharted depths. Rooted in an interdisciplinary approach, the Suite weaves together lush harmonies, intricate counterpoint, and dynamic interplay between piano and imagined ensemble textures.

"Mermaids" is an upright electric bass guitar made mostly from salvaged construction materials and found objects. The frets are made from copper electrical wire, the neck from a section of handrail, the tail piece is a bottle opener, and the soundboards are from old paneling. The bass can pivot around the curve at the tails to be played horizontally if desired.
