Canvas and acrylic, exploring the fullness of brushstrokes in creating orthographical symbols without agreed referent, the goal of which is to create an image which has the optical effect of an illusion of motion, friction caused by the tight contrast of colors that forms subunits, groupings of characters that separate and join the picture as a whole.

REMINDER is based on the concepts of healing, self-care, and psychology. Our thoughts have an effect on our behaviors and actions. Negative thoughts can be overwhelming and self-debilitating. To remind oneself that "you are not your thoughts" and that your thoughts do not define you is an affirmation meant to increase self-esteem and confidence. Flowers represent beauty, growth, and a tie to the natural world. They remind us that we are living, human, and should be kind to ourselves. I hope that this print reminds the viewer to think about themselves in a more positive, loving way.
