I’ve often been told by my art teachers and mentors that I don’t give my work the time that it deserves. I tend to rush through art projects and assignments while balancing them with other aspects of life. That is something I hoped to change with this passion project.

This Video, "Feeding" was created at the Solo Lab 5 Residency at Visarts at Rockville in 2021. During the residency, I had free reign of the gallery space for five days to create a performance art installation.

These works posit a future that can no longer distinguish between the source and the imitation. Calling on the form and format of the fossils we rely on to narrate the world before we were in it, Fossil Futures contemplates a time when our replicas and remnants are themselves ancient but newly discovered. As imperishable objects that have outlived their context, they are convenient substitutions for the building of new narratives as unreal as themselves.
Entre Nous  features loved ones and familiar figures of Jerrell Gibbs in contexts of leasure. The series connects the artist's relationship between Baltimore City, his hometown, and Paris, France, two critical sites of artistic and personal growth for Jerrell.
Over 3 hours of close-up, almost intimate, stock video of people’s faces. These are all of the close-up stock videos of people from a major stock website. Among the available available videos, whose likeness appears most often? This artwork is about power, our relationship to our own image, empathy, the market, and our culture’s reflection of whose likeness and narratives are most marketable and valuable.
