Among our global challenges I'm often inspired by the intersections of science and culture, where so called 'facts' and the deeper mysteries within us collide. Hence my 'non-liniar' output. My aim is to create works which raise questions from the invisible through abstractions and metaphors. Being intuitive, I play with hints, suppositions and the margins of being as I go after the mystery. Can truth become a formula or does it die when placed upon a forced march by external demands?

HANDLE FOR THE AXE

In my artwork, I have always dealt with tensions, harmonies, and metaphorical dichotomies that I express through visual and processual contrasts. Thus, alterations between different forms of casting and mark making, the relationship between the organic and the inorganic, and rhythmic, shifts between modulation and improvisation have always been at the core of my vocabulary as a ceramic artist.

I've been collecting old keys for years. I believe that they hold onto a kind of history. When I went through a long period of being ill I struggled with how to keep working. I was forced to work small and create pieces where many small steps could eventually add up to something more.
